What we collect.
We collect two categories of information. The first is information you give us — your name, email address, and business name when you fill out our contact form or reply to an email we sent you. The second is information we find in public records — your business listing, your reviews, and your existing website, if you have one. We also collect basic engagement data: whether an email we sent was opened, whether a link was clicked, and when.
How we use it.
We use your information to build the preview website we send you, to personalize the email that accompanies it, and to follow up once if we don't hear back. If you become a client, we use your information to deliver the finished site and to communicate about the project. We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties except the services we use to send and track email — Google Workspace for delivery, and our own database for engagement tracking.
How long we keep it.
For leads that don't respond to any of our three emails, we retain your information for 90 days and then remove it from active processing. The public preview URL may remain live after that period unless you ask us to take it down. Clients' project records are retained for three years.
Your options.
To stop receiving email from us, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send, or email us at hi@pilcrow.tld with "unsubscribe" in the subject line. To request that we delete your information, or to ask what we have on file, email us at hi@pilcrow.tld. We'll respond within five business days.
